Spond: Mersey Tri Training Session Management System
Please carefully read the Terms and Conditions below, before accepting one of the links to join your borough Group.
Sign-up to the Group that is geographically the best fit i.e. where you generally attend training sessions - this will be your Primary Group. At a future date, if you would like to be added to other secondary Groups please email peter@merseytri.org.uk (please do not make a new sign-up request either by link or code!)
Liverpool borough; or if you already have the Spond app, then use this Group code: ZLZNO
Sefton borough; or if you already have the Spond app, then use this Group code: LISQL
Wirral borough; or if you already have the Spond app, then use this Group code: BOSMJ
England Athletics (all boroughs); or if you already have the Spond app, then use this Group code: MZDCQ
Only join this Group if you are individually affiliated to England Athletics with Mersey Tri as your first claim club. The Group is used to share news, information, and for registering for L&D XC race dates, rather than for training session bookings,
Junior Section (all boroughs); or if you already have the Spond app, then use this Group code: EFYCS
Please do not request to join this group as an individual club member unless you are a coach / session helper.
This Group may be used for both coach / session helper sign-up or for registering a junior member with a guardian. When registering a junior in the Junior Section, they must fall between the ages of 6 and 14. The registration process requires that a Guardian (parent) is named as the responsible point of contact, for session bookings, payments etc..
If the child falls between the ages of 15 and 17, they still require a Guardian (parent), but as well as the Junior Section, they may also join the appropriate borough group. Please discuss with Junior Coach Coordinator (email address below).
If you need assistance please contact juniorcoachcoordinator@merseytri.org.uk
Mersey Tri Spond Terms & Conditions
YOU MUST BE A FULLY PAID-UP CLUB MEMBER TO ATTEND CLUB TRAINING SESSIONS
When registering with Spond, the same details must be used, when registering with the club (through Nifty) e.g. same first and last name, email address, phone number, home address etc.. Both systems are GDPR compliant.
Scheduled housekeeping cross-checks the two systems (Spond & Nifty) and checks for a record match. If no match is found there is a danger your Spond account may be deactivated. Mersey Tri reserves the right to adjust Spond account details to ensure an accurate match can be performed.
If you fail to renew your club membership, or decide not to renew your club membership (Nifty), then your Spond account will be deactivated and deleted.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS: By registering to attend any training session, it is your responsibility to declare to the session host any existing or new medical issue or condition that could make it unsafe for you to participate. If you know you have a virus e.g. flu or covid, or are experiencing any of the symptoms, do not attend club training sessions until you are sure you are no longer infectious.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Sessions cancelled by the club member
If you need to cancel attendance at a session please remove yourself from the attendance list with over 24 hours notice as that will give those on a waitlist (if exists) the ability to be added to the session in a timely way.
It’s good practice if you would please also either phone the session host, or message them privately through the Spond app to inform them of your cancellation. Please don’t message in a group chat such as WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger as the host may not see that notification.
Sessions cancelled by the Club
This might need to be done due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. unplanned coach unavailability, adverse weather conditions etc.. This is at no fault of the club member, and reimbursement will be arranged (see REFUNDS below).
REFUNDS:
Refunds are not supported from the Spond app. Mersey Tri have requested that functionality should be added by Spond but have been informed this is currently not on the Spond roadmap.
Refunds for sessions cancelled by the club member
When the cancellation complies with the Cancellation Policy (above), carrying-over the cancelled session cost to a next available session (at zero cost to the club member) is the default action. Please arrange with the session host.
