Athletic Background: Drinking beer

Biggest sporting achievement to date?: It will be Ironman come July 2016

Favourite workout?: Neg splits

Least Favourite Workout?: Circle of death, but that's been binned :-)

Worst Habit ?: Never charging my Garmins

Favourite song to train to / motivate?: Don't really listen to music, but I love a bit of funk and soul

Something about you that many people do not know?: Before triathlon I had a life! I used to go out the hill alot and climb and scale all the mountains this country had to offer. At one stage I was training to become a mountain leader but sacked that off once I was inspired by Alister in 2012!!

If you could tell other athletes one thing you have learned so far in your training what would it be?: Consistency is key, don't listen to the excuses in your head, just get out even if it's for a 30min swim, bike or run. also remember to have variety in your training don't go 90% all the time but equally stay out of the grey zone.

What is your ultimate goal as an athlete?: To beat Dean Hanwell!!!

Always 10 steps ahead hahaha ;-)

Favourite Race / Course?: I like Liverpool as its the home tri, the night out after it is always memorable

What's your most memorable racing moment?: Crossing the finish line with Paul will.i.ams at wasdale half after a long day. Paul caught me up on the bike about 30k in and we rode together untill he left me on wrynose but I then went ahead after he fell off on the decent (i stopped too). We went in to t2 together and then both moaned all the way around the run/walk as well as laughing at each other falling in bogs.

Any unusual race day routines or superstitions?: I always run through my transitions before a race, people who know me will know I have nothing in transition, only my bike and trainers. People who bring a box in with all kinds of gear in annoys me, if your efficient then you will be quick in T1 & 2 knocking minutes off.

What race / event / ride is on your bucket list?: I don't have any! I just plan my session around my current situation. Think I will generally stay away from races that sell out as I think they skimp on quality when they know they are guaranteed the numbers.

Swim: Zone 3 wet suit. Any zogg goggs

Bike: Focus

Run: Adidas trainers

Nutrition of choice: Pork pies

What piece of equipment couldn't you live without?: Chocolate milk!!!!!
