Mark Howard
Athletic Background: Lifting weights in the gym for years then fell in love with cycling. These days a sort of jack of all trades master of none.
Biggest sporting achievement to date?: Since I moved into the vet age group last year I`ve been winning my cat almost each time I`ve raced.
Favourite workout?: Neg splits or Hills for a run and anything on the bike.
Least Favourite Workout?: Anything in the water.
Worst Habit ?: Red wine and Chocolate and my timekeeping is always last minute.
Favourite song to train to / motivate?: Not that bothered really.
Something about you that many people do not know?: I used to tip the scales at just under 16 stone.
If you could tell other athletes one thing you have learned so far in your training what would it be?: Sounds obvious but try and train "hard" and make every session count. I`m not a person that goes through the motions during a workout, id rather not bother turning up than waste the session.
What is your ultimate goal as an athlete?: To stay injury free and keep enjoying racing.
Favourite Race / Course?: Liverpool Tri.
What's your most memorable racing moment?: Loads, but fresh in the memory is the Tri relays in Nottingham and all the chaos that went with the day. Great event and id love to go back and have another bash.
Any unusual race day routines or superstitions?: None
What race / event / ride is on your bucket list?: I always wanted to ride Le Marmotte and finally got there this year. I`d also like to race for the GB age groups in the near future.
Swim: Orca suit/predator goggles
Bike: Specialized Tramac and Dolan Scala
Run: Asics
Nutrition of choice: Soreen
What piece of equipment couldn't you live without?: My bikes.
