Note: The novice races are intended for introducing newcomers to the sport of triathlon without the need for expensive equipment. With this in mind, road bikes, cyclo cross bikes and carbon framed mountain bikes will not be permitted for the cycling section of each race. This restriction does NOT apply to Tristar races.

For all races the swim takes place in a 25 metre six lane indoor pool. This is followed by cycling and running on a grass playing field. The race is continuous from the start of the swim to the end of the run. The event is run in accordance with the Competition Rules of British Triathlon.

£10.00 for non BTF members or £9.00 for BTF members (non refundable)

Non-members of British Triathlon may enter and compete in Novice or Tristar/Youth races but must pay the non BTF (eg Triathlon England) members entry fee. The additional fee provides public liability insurance cover.

The Royal Hotel liverpool-royalhotel.co.uk is a 3 minute walk from the race venue and the Blundell Bed and Breakfast.blundellbandb.co.uk is a 5 minute drive. Nearby, Liverpool [6 miles ] and Southport [12 miles] have a wide range of accommodation available.

British Triathlon has awarded the Merseytri race on May 19th official status as a qualifier for the Aquathlon World Championships which takes part in London in september as part of the final in the World Championship series.
